Swimming

When Isabelle first started swimming lessons, she was wearing a three-layer back bubble.
Today she is down-grading to a two-layer bubble.

There's a bunny in her bed..

Isabelle has been s.l.o.w.l.y getting back into the groove of putting herself to sleep in her own bed. Entirely my fault that it went all skewed after such a great run (she had a cold, and I put her in my bed with me and it went pear-shaped after that).

At the moment, Issy is trying to sync it all together and occasionally when I go to check on her once she is asleep I will find random toys in her bed.

Tonight, she had a backpack and handbag as well as her dressing gown and to top it all off, she had on her bunny nose she made at pre-school at Easter.

Fingers crossed tonight is another night full night of sleeping in her bed.

School Fair 09

Isabelle stayed over with Aunties Amanda and Mel again last night, and today I met them at Amanda's school fair/open day.

Issy really only wanted to play in Amanda's classroom, but jumped at the chance of a pony ride. This year, she was not as into it, the pony she had kept neighing (as they do) and she didn't like it. After only two circles, she was ready to get off and see other things. There were mainly horses this year too, so that may have had something to do with it.

They did have a snowboard demonstration again which Issy wanted to do. She is so excited about going to the snow - bring on winter!

After the much needed fairy floss was consumed, Issy and I headed off with Aunty Mel for a quick photo shoot, only to have Issy fall asleep on the way.

Miz Booshay
wrote a post for Pioneer Woman which made me realise I have very little photos with Issy, which made me sad.
I need to remember this:
3. Your children look at you all day long. THEY know what you look like. They won’t care how you look in the picture.
The photos are not for anything else other than for Isabelle to have. They will be tucked away in an album somewhere, or saved on a disk and stored away so that in years to come we can smile at the memories of her beautiful childhood.

So the next time I start declining being in photos, remind me of this

Who's top dog??

Today Issy wanted to play her 'dog' game where she basically pretends to be a dog.
She wanted me (her owner) to take her for a walk around the house - leash and all (leash was a stretching band - 'tied' up around her torso).
As we were getting ready for the walk, Gypsy the real dog got very worried about this imposter dog (who was not barking, or acting dog-like except for being on all fours and getting praise!) and was jumping around all over Issy and I trying to figure out what was going on.

Issy tired quickly of Gypsy being crazy and so we put Gypsy on the lead (not really needed) and took her up to get the mail.
Isabelle must have been channeling dog trainer Victoria Stilwell from It's Me Or The Dog (a favourite show to watch with Aunty Amanda) because I am sure that was who was walking the dog. Will try to video it next time - she has all the moves down pat, and the voice projection - not quite the accent...

Another career goal perhaps?

"Vonit goes in the vonit bucket"

On Monday, Isabelle came home with sore, scrapped knees.
She fell over while playing High School Musical and was a very upset girl when I picked her up, so when we got home we had some snuggles and watched Milly Molly.

I also shared one of my Lindt chocolates
(on the right)

While I took Aunty Sarah to dancing and Aunty Amy to work, Issy stayed at home with Nan and hung out watching Milly Molly, or so I thought. She had in fact finished off the box of chocolates, she ate five more in the space of 30 minutes.
She didn't want dinner that night - can you blame her? Those little chocolate balls are deceivingly rich. Isabelle also went to bed early and was sleeping peacefully when I offered to pick up Amy and Sarah.
Apparently, just before we got home Issy got up to go to the bathroom and called for me so of Nan went to investigate only to miss the projectile vomit landing on her by half a second.

Thankfully it happened in the tiled area of the bathroom and not on the carpet and only happened once, was worries she picked up the bug going around at the moment. She slept soundly after a quick wash down and new jammies, can't say the same for myself though...
Seems I picked up the bug that has slowly been making its way round the family and was hit full force about 3.30 in the AM :(
That was Monday night, today is Thursday and I finally feel well enough to actually get up and get dressed!

Luckily, Isabelle has great Aunties who will drop her off and pick her up from school, let her stay over, and take the next day off so she doesn't miss out on swimming lessons.

And as for the title of the post, this was the piece of advice Isabelle gave me as she was leaving for school on Tuesday. That girl is all about the loving.

Still here...

After a two week break from all of Issy's activities (pre-school, swimming, library and dancing), we are now back into the swing of it all, everything went back last week and it was like we never had a break.
After two weeks of late nights and hanging around the house doing not much, we have had no problems getting back into routine.

Ali and Andrew came back this way for a week of visiting and we hung out with them every chance we got.
It was so good seeing them again. I think the next time we see them will be in the next school holidays, we will be heading down their way for a visit, and hopefully a play in the snow.
We saw Monsters vs. Aliens with Ali (Andrew is not into kid movies) while she was up this way, and Issy and I really enjoyed. So much so that on the weekend of seeing it at the cinemas, we saw it at the drive-in! We also watched Dragonball Evolution and Race to Witch Mountain.

Through the holidays, we (and by 'we' I mean Dad!) have been putting down new flooring. Kitchen, Dining and Lounge rooms are being done as well as the entry and hallway. Whenever a space was done, Issy would congratulate "GranGrad" on a job well done. She would constantly be asking how it's going and making sure he was okay.

And as if this blog is not neglected enough, I have gone and joined twitter!
I the short and sweet-ness of it - not needing to be at the computer also helps! Facebook sucks me in - I can have one thing to do on the computer, and Facebook will just magically open up :)
I have added my twitter updates over on the side ->
Feel free to add me!

And a little photo of Gypsy - she usually never sits long enough for a photo!
