New T-shirts

I bought this shirt for Isabelle this week from here (image also from there). It was on sale, and only available in orange and a size too big, but I love it and it suits her!

I am also going to give making a t-shirt like this for her too, but with a cute dinosaur instead (and positioned in the middle):

Afternoon Nap

Isabelle is having a late afternoon nap!
The only time Issy sleeps during the day is if she is sick (which she is not).
She laid down on my bed around 4pm, grabbed her High School Musical blanket because she was cold, and within five minutes she was snoring.

I'm going to have to wake her soon, its currently 5.16pm, and if she sleeps any longer she will not sleep tonight. Or, I could let her sleep (she always wakes up cranky if I wake her) and see if she makes it through the night. But she hasn't had any dinner so will most likely wake up because she is hungry in a couple of hours....

**She just woke up, wiped the drool gathering on her chin, looked over here and said "don't" and is going back to sleep.

Maybe I should just let her sleep....

Here we are.. again

My poor neglected blog.
I had great intentions of writing in here often after realising just how neglected it has become since starting my Photo a Day blog.

And yet it has been a while since I wrote here... again.

I am contemplating merging the photo blog into here, its desperate for more photos!!

Following up from the last post, Isabelle woke up with no temperature the next day after our visit to the doctor and despite still having a bit of the rash, she went off to school. She was devastated about even the possibility of missing one day of school (hopefully this attitude continues throughout her schooling years!)

Her swimming lesson was almost missed because she had a playdate with her new friend from school and she didn't want to leave.
Swimming lessons in general have been going good. In the beginning, Isabelle was not a fan of water being poured over her head, or going under water but now she is getting the hang of it and last week did not cry, or get upset at all and she went under a couple of times! I bought her some new goggles last week which I think helped A LOT.

We have been hanging out with the cousins a lot. Issy loves playing with them, only downside is the possessiveness they have about their respective toys. Hopefully we move past this soon.

Dancing has been great. She has been twice and loves it. She asks every morning if its dancing day. She is in the 6 and unders class, and compared to last year there is a larger range of ages (last year they all looked about 5/6). Will have to try and get a photo of her in her dancing outfit (complete with shoes she got from Aunty Mel).

Today while helping me get her lunch ready for school Issy hurt her neck. I think its just krick/crick (know what I mean??) because all she did was turn to look in the cupboard. She was so upset and sore, but was adamant that she was going to school. She kept telling me that Michelle would fix her neck when she got to school.
Amidst tears she kept getting ready and had every plan of going to school. I kept trying to explain that in order for her neck to get better she should be at home with me resting.
I had to hand in some fundraising money today, so we trooped off to school, she insisted on bringing her bag in, but got very teary while I was trying to unpack and organise her lunch and morning tea.
She then told me she wanted to go home, so we said farewell to Michelle and trooped off home again.

Ahhh, that explains it!

After writing the previous post, I went and got Issy from pre-school. And in usual Issy fashion, she wanted to take her shirt (or in this case dress shirt) off. And what did we discover when she took it off, she was covered in small red bumps.
Isabelle has been fully vaccinated, but the first thing I thought was chicken pox although after talking to Mum she ruled it out, but when she saw Issy her first thought was measles!

So off we go to the after-hours medical centre, and waited for over 3 hours - I didn't think we would be there that long, but luckily had Issy's drawing book with us to keep her occupied.
When we saw the doctor, she confirmed that Issy did have a viral infection, but she believes the rash is the end stage of it - that would explain why Issy has had a temp on and off the last four days.

Issy was excellent while in the waiting room, around 8.30 she started to get really hungry, but I knew we would be seen really soon (all the people who had been in the waiting room when we got there were gone) and we were seen at 9pm.
She was also excellent for the doctor, she seems to have gotten past her 'scared of dotors stage'.

So if she wakes up with clear skin and no sign of a temp (she didn't have one today), then she will off to school. If she is still spotty, she will be having a sick day - she was quite worried about missing a day of school!

And yet more back-dating!

Last week Isabelle's pre-school celebrated Girl's Day.
Issy made a pair of Japanese dolls:
And even learnt how to say hello in Japanese (Konichiwa). Issy is still loving school, and her friends and teachers. She sometimes plays 'schools' with her toys and loves to be the teacher.
After tomorrow there are four more weeks of school for Issy before holidays. Whenever we talked about her Aunties being on holidays (from school/work), Issy always thought that meant they were going on a holiday somewhere.
Andrew and Ali are visiting in the holidays too which be lots of fun. We miss them and can't wait to see them!
Swimming lessons also have a break over the school holidays, but with the way Issy has taken to being in the pool, I think we will be visiting the pool a heck of a lot. And even though we are officially in autumn now, because the pool is indoors the swimming lessons will continue through the year.

Issy came down with a bit of a temperature last week, but seems to be on the mend. It was a bit peculiar, the first day she started getting warm in the morning, the next day it was the afternoon and the third day she was good up until after dinner. Still not sure what was wrong, had a feel of her gums and they were sore apparently, so maybe teeth?? (molars)
She has been drooling on her pillow (have I grossed you out?) a lot - something she never does....

Isabelle is going to start dancing lessons this week too. She really wanted to Ballet, but the class is full, so she will be doing Jazz. She is really looking forward to dancing and with the added bonus of a costume and dancing on the stage at the end of the year she so excited!

When Issy tried out dancing last year, some of her friends mothers told me that they would not go down the "dancing mum" road - they had danced themselves when they were younger and did not want to do it again. Maybe it's just me, but I see that as denying your child an opportunity to try something new. I'm not saying you should push your child into whatever you see fit, but if they want to try something, I'm all for it. What about you??
