Happy Birthday Amanda

Yesterday I went for my spray tan for the big day tomorrow - and at the moment, I look like I rolled around in the dirt all day long!

Today is my sister Amanda's birthday. Happy Birthday Amanda!!
Issy and I will be 'surprising' her with a delivery of cupcakes at work, and then Issy is going to hang out with Aunty Mel while I head off to help Ali with any last minute wedding details.
Then tomorrow, Aunty Mel and Aunty Amanda will be bringing Issy up to the wedding.

I am excited about tomorrow - can't believe that its the end of October though!

I borrowed this book from Ali on Wednesday:

I finished it yesterday, and now I'm hooked!
It is such a great book - I literally could not put it down, and am hoping to finish the series before the movie which is released on 11th December.

Winter already??

Where is all the lovely Spring weather??

A lot of the blogs I read are talking about autumn (or fall as they say) and I feel like I could be right there with them at the moment!!

Do you know it snowed at the Blue Mountains yesterday???
photo from smh
This here is the article about it. What happened to all the lovely spring weather we were having??
Over the other side of Australia, they are still having hot weather, high 30's (Celsius)!?!!?

I was loving the change of seasons and had packed away most of Issy's winter-y clothes, last night I had to pull out the box to dig around for some warm pajamas, think I may need to get out the flannelet ones for tonight.

It's the last one... promise

With Issy's endless curiosity about when it's actually Christmas, I made her a picture calendar with pictures/photos to show when birthdays are and which days are school, kindergym and library days.
It's a big success, and she can't wait to cross the day off at bedtime.

So much has happened since my last post!
Not surprising seeing as my last post was at the beginning of the month and we are almost at the end of October.
Time always seems to fly in the last couple months of the year.
And I really should post about things as they happen, so as not to have a couple of huge posts every now and again!

We attended Issy's friend Chloe's 2nd birthday party. Issy was in heaven at the Dora themed birthday bash. She also took some photos for Chloe's Mum:
(some of the presents)

Chloe's Mum is also a great cupcake maker!

And the fact they were pink and in Princess cases was almost too much for Issy!
We had a great time catching up with friends and helping Chloe celebrate the big 2.

Despite the picture for Kindergym being on the calendar last week, we didn't get to the class :( I had to get new tyres on the car, and I accidentally made the appointment for the same time as Kindergym.

And for the last couple of days Issy has been sick. Her temperature was up and down, and she was complaining about a sore ear. It got so bad on Saturday night I contemplated taking her to emergency. She fell asleep in the car, and I drove around for a while trying to decide whether to wake her or not. Sunday she seemed a bit better and went to the beach with Nana, Grandad and Aunties Amy, Sarah and Emily. But Sunday night was more of the same (although not as bad as Saturday as I had Panadol for her). So Monday we went to the doctor and found out she has an ear infection :(
She was fantastic in the doctors office. We had read Time to See the Doctor in the waiting room, and played doctors with her doctor kit, so when he asked to check her out, she was cool, calm and collected. She did ask me where her sticker was (like in the book) but was not worried about it.
As were walking out she told me, "Mum, I was a brave girl". She was indeedy!
She is on a round of antibiotics to clear up her infection, and she is slowly bouncing back to her wildly energetic self.
She didn't go to school today, and we will see how she goes for Kindergym tomorrow.

There is about a week and a half till Ali's wedding, and I am getting excited!
I put together a couple of CDs full of songs for the preparation stages of the wedding.
Issy keeps practicing walking down the aisle, and the other day, she tossed her 'bouquet' when she reached the end!
Can't wait to see what she does on the day :)

October???

Where did September go??
Has anyone seen it?
I can't believe how fast the last couple of months have flown by.
Its three weeks until Ali's wedding. 3!!
And Christmas is here at the shops already, which is earlier than last year, and one little girl is getting very excited
about it.
And that also means that I've been writing this blog for almost a year, which also means Issy's 3rd birthday is fast approaching!

Last week, Isabelle and I saw "Emily Loves to Bounce".
She loved it!
She was also excited to be travelling by train.
This is what she was like the whole train trip there:

And on the way back:

It was her first train ride, and she is keen for a repeat performance.
Once the school holidays are over (the kids go back to school next week), we will be going to the Aquarium , which will involve another train ride.

We also went to the beach for a picnic to celebrate my cousin's birthday. Issy was excited about going to the beach, don't you love the pose?:

Issy is not a water babe. She didn't want anything to do with the water, but after a lot of coaxing, she was stand at the water's edge and let Nan and I swing her legs through the water.
Swimming lessons are going to be added to the ever growing list of activities that Issy has through the week.

Yesterday Issy and I saw 'Beverly Hills Chihuahua' with Ali. She really enjoyed it, and laughed almost the whole way through.
When we arrived home, we had a little present waiting for us... the hair bows from America! Once I have photos of them in her hair, I will post them. They are super cute!
