Bring on Summer!

I don't know about you, but I am ready for Spring/Summer!

We (Issy and I) have had a good run in terms of the winter cold/flu. I am currently getting over a bout of it, and despite wearing next to nothing all winter, Issy hasn't caught anything. She is slightly sniffily, but that's it.

With Spring/Summer fast approaching, I will no longer need to worry about whether Issy has on enough layers over her summer dress to keep warm. There will be no daily battles of getting her to wear a shirt/stockings with said summer dress. Next year I will try to find some cute long-sleeved dresses to halve battle. Although, Issy will probably have found another favourite item of clothing that she must wear everyday!

Looking at American blogs doesn't help either! While they are running around in their summer gear, we are over this side of the world all rugged up and sniffily.

Issy can wear shoes like this:

Or dress like this:

Issy's Photography

After going weeks with no photos on here, today, there will be many - not taken by me, but by Isabelle.
Issy loves cameras, she loves taking photos, I think it comes from hanging out with Aunty Mel!

Whenever we are in the car, and Issy is getting a little restless, she gets the camera (if it's batteries aren't dead- and if we have remembered it) and clicks away.

Issy loves taking photos of her feet:

While in the car, poor Issy doesn't have a lot of cool things to look at

That is of course, unless some motorbikes whizz past, or we see some flashing lights and hear the sirens. Animals also cause excitement from the back - she loves to see cows and horses in the paddocks as we drive by.

Today we went over to Ali's house to help organise the hen's night with Carissa (Andrew's sister, and maid of honour). Issy loves visiting Ali and Andrew and never wants to leave. We had lunch with them after all we had completed all the hen's night organising and Issy had a blast. She even had 2 rides on the merry-go-rounds and played the clowns. I had the left the camera in the car where Issy had dropped it (next to her seat), so no photos :(

But this is what Issy had for her mid-morning snack:

She loved spreading the philly on the crackers by herself, and everyone else loved the cheese men!

Gypsy again......

I would like to formally retract my statement about our new dog - she is not just skittish, she is crazy!

I am not 100% sure why, but she has taken to me, she cries when I leave and loves to sleep on my bed - so much so, she thought she should claim and and peed on it the other night! Issy and I had gotten back from a big long day at J-Rock and were snuggling down under the nice warm blankets when Gypsy peed on the doona. She wasn't at home by herself and she had just been out to wee and yet she picked my bed to relieve herself - just lovely.

At the moment, Gypsy is not in our room of a night. I have the humidifier/steam vaporiser (whatever you want to call it) going so both Issy and I can get some sleep with coughing and sniffling so much, so the dog has to find someone new to sleep with. The inhalant is exposed on the top of the vaproiser, and I worry that she will try and drink it!

Today Isabelle hung out with Aunty Mel while I took the groceries home, as I was leaving Gypsy had darted out the doggy door and was chasing my car, so back home I went with the dog in the car, and tried to leave again - with success this time. Dad was home today and yet the dog cried and tried to follow me to Mel's house instead of hanging out at home...

Gypsy...

Sunday we celebrated my niece's second birthday. We had a great time, chilling out, playing and eating cake!

After the party, we headed over to my sister's place to have a look at her friend's dog. She (the dog) was in need of a new home and we put our hands up.
She is a Maltese cross Poodle, and is a black/brown colour. We all voted yes to having the dog and she came home with us.
Issy is a little scared around dogs - after growing up with Bella who was a small dog and very easy going with the family, Issy is taking a little while to get used to other dogs. She loves animals of all shapes and sizes, as long as she is tightly holding onto someone's shoulder!

Gypsy (the dog) is still a bit skittish - she is not quite sure of all the noises we make - she will be at one end of the house and hear someone down the other end and start barking and growling at them! She is a spoilt dog - she slept on the bed with Issy and I both last night and the night before - but that will be ending because she is so restless, it takes her ages to finally settle down to sleep, and that was right on top of me!

My camera batteries are charging, so no photo of her, but I will post one as soon as they are recharged.

Issy has been talking about going to dancing for just over a week now. So we are going to try it again this afternoon after school, hopefully all goes well.

A Bit of Everything

I have been so slack in blogging lately - not that anyone actually reads it!

I have been busy with uni work - trying to stay on top of that... I think I actually posted about that last time - well that is what I am doing :)

Isabelle has decided that getting dressed is for the weak. She would much rather stay in her jammies all day - until around 4.30/5pm and then she decides she wants to get dressed! Even the promise of wearing a ballerina dress can't get her out of her jammies!
Her one favourite item of clothing at the moment (besides the pyjamas) is a size 1 pink with white spots dress. It is a gorgeous dress, and I am glad she is getting every inch of use out of it, but she has so many other nice things to wear too - she'll probably end up wearing them when they are a size too small as well!
When going out, the shoes must be the plastic 'high heels' that you can buy that go with the princess dress/wand etc.

Isabelle has given up her bed! She is in my bed for 99% of the night, so I packed it up a couple of weeks ago and just left her mattress under my bed. Occasionally she will ask to sleep on her mattress (like tonight), but usually it's in my bed. My sister-in-law 'warned' me about Issy co-sleeping with me when she was just newborn - that she will never get out of my bed, that we won't get a good night's sleep, that I'll be wanting my bed back..... But reality of it is that we do sleep better in the same bed, and I missed her being in my bed when, on the off-chance that she actually stayed in her bed all night!

My camera batteries died, and I keep forgetting to recharge them, hence no recent Issy Photography, or new photos for that matter!

Lastly, my sister Sarah turned 16 on Friday. Tonight (Saturday night) we celebrated this event by playing Laser Tag - best game ever! And also had a bite to eat :)

Monday is my niece's 2nd birthday, and we are heading over to their place to celebrate tomorrow (Sunday). Issy loves calling my two nieces "cousins". Whenever we talk about them (a lot) she says, "they're my cousins!"
