"I had a bad dream...."

Last night Princess awoke at 4.30am screaming - she had had a bad dream, but when asked why she screamed she replied, "I don't know".
The bad dream was not spoken about again until this afternoon when she was telling Nana she had a bad dream. It went a little like this:

"I had a bad dream and I screamed (squeeze little hands into fists and squish face together for emphasis).
I was in Big W and Nona (nickname for one of her Aunties) was a doll and she screamed and I screamed (again make hands into fists, and squish face for added emphasis - also increase the volume on the word "screamed')."

She was in my bed when the bad dream occurred, and it gave me an almighty scare - she is not a quiet child, and to wake up to her scream really gets your heart pumping. She didn't go back to sleep for about half an hour, and even then it was a full sleep until half an hour after that...

And now she is refusing to sleep, she keeps saying "I had a bad dream.... I don't want a bad dream..." and has huge bags under her eyes, the biggest indicator that she is over-tired...

Yesterday saw her practice her scream as well. One the dogs from across the road got out of the yard (I think they are black Labradors) and was waiting near the front of our house. We were heading out to get in the car, and Princess saw the dog and just stood rigid and screamed - the dog is almost the same height as her so that must have been quite scary too!
She is not a fan of animals larger than our Maltese X? Bella!

Some more happier news is that I got my P's on Monday!!! So we have been busy visiting friends and Aunties and having a great time riding around in the car listening to Princess's new love: High School Musical(HSM) 2! This kid loves her musicals - also a big fan of Zac Efron, he is in both HSM and Hairspray!!

Off to try and get her to sleep.... if worse comes to worse and she still isn't sleeping, we can always go for a drive, a proven method to get Princess to go to sleep!

I counted my chickens :)

After my last post, I went to bed, only to find a wet bottomed baby girl sleeping in my bed!! She hasn't had a dry night since - just changed her and popped her into my bed...
If I put her back into night-time pants, she might just get lazy and not bother going to the toilet, but with winter fast approaching, I don't want to be having to wash sheets every day, and not be able to dry them...

Tomorrow is D-Day.... again!
I have a good feeling about this - not at all nervous/worried as I was last time....

"It's Raining, it's pouring...."

It feels like it has been raining non-stop for a month (for like a week I think - the days are just rolling into one!)

Because of the wet weather, the fun is kinda limited, but today we went bowling with Aunty A and E. Princess had a great time, and was the best cheer squad a person could ask for! We played two games, which consisted of 10 turns each, with two bowls each turn so Princess was a little over it at the end! She had the bumpers up though, so that helped keep the excitement there because she knocked pins over every time!


Tonight while eating dinner Princess told me, "I have a secret to tell you". I asked her what it was and she replied, "Santa is at Christmastime. He is making presents for everyone for Christmas. Presents for you, for kids, and presents for me!"
For a kid who wont even look at Santa when he visits the local shopping centre, she sure is concerned with where he is and what he is doing. It wasn't the first time she has asked about him, and it wont be the last!


We finally got the computer back!!! Bad news is that it needed a new 'motherboard' so we have lost all the old stuff, hopefully they still have the old parts, and Mum's friend's very tech savvy son can retrieve some of our stuff *fingers crossed*


Other good news is that Princess has been dry throughout the night for about a week now. We have had success before, but not for this long! I started out taking her to the toilet before I went to bed, and occasionally she would wake to go to the toilet, but now she is waiting until morning to go. I thought dry nights wouldn't happen until she was almost three, but she seems to have got the hang of it - though I know we might not be completely there yet, time will tell.

Found some Boots!

Today when visiting the favourite Aunties with Aunty S, Princess slipped into her 'cranky pants' and was being Little Miss Bossy. At one stage she was telling Aunty S that she was annoying!
It's hard not to laugh at her (sometimes) when gets her 'cranky pants' on - she goes for the full dramatic effect with the crossed arms and a wrinkled brow. (hope that makes sense!)


The main computer is still away being repaired - hopefully we hear something soon! If it can't be repaired, my Mum's friend son is a whiz with computers and will hopefully be able to retrieve photos etc from the hard drive.

Last night Princess had the 'curlies' in her hair (curlers), and woke up this morning with gorgeous curls, and also crazy curls (I didn't have enough of the foam curlers to do her whole head, so used some of the "so tight it looks like a perm" curlers I have

Next time I do her hair in the curlers, I am going to see if M can take some photos (and then do it with the other curlers and get those photographed!)

My Mum found a cute pair of boots for Princess! They are not cowgirl boots, but they sure are cute! Just need to find my camera which has gone walk-about so you'll can see them!!

Princess and Bella

The other night, Princess woke and came climbing into my bed. She was still half asleep, but was chattering away saying the funniest things. I told her that I loved her, and she replied, "yes, you do!" She also proclaimed she was "stinky" after "popping off"!

We have the funniest and cutest conversations late at night while she is half asleep!



This is Bella, she is my Mum's dog, but Princess absolutely loves her! She loves playing with Bella, and loves to cuddle with her on the couch.
Bella on the other hand would rather hang out on the lounge without having little hands squishing her, but she does have a soft spot for Princess!

Youngest Fan Ever!

I think I have the youngest Hairspray fan! Princess saw the movie when it first came out, and watches the DVD countless times and loves singing along to the soundtrack!

I think she may also be the youngest High School Musical fan... basically the youngest Zac Efron fan!!

She is forever saying, "Link is my boy" (Link Larkin is Zac Efron's character in Hairspray) and tells people that she is Tracey!

Trying to find a t-shirt in her size is proving difficult! If anyone knows where I can find a kids size 2 shirt, please let me know :)

"it's alright big fella...."

Today, we woke up to half a black-out... half the house had no power, but had lights working, the other half was working perfectly...

Luckily we have an electrician in the family (my dad) and he came home and is currently fixing it.

Princess is being a great help, she is standing at the bottom of the ladder and yelling out, "it's alright big fella.... come down big fella..." over and over. She is fascinated with the fact that GranGrad can climb up in the roof!

Princess is also currently testing out how in control she can be... She is such a bossy little thing, and she is trying her hand out at just how bossy she can be!
Hopefully we can nip it in the bud before it gets too out of hand...


I am still a Learner.... I didn't pass my driving test :( But am booked in to go again in about two and half weeks. My reverse park wasn't 100% and I didn't pick a 'safe' enough gap in the traffic to rejoin, it wasn't test safe, but regular people safe. Other than that everything else was great, so I will pass next time!

D-Day!

Princess told me the other day that she was taking me for a driving lesson! She was adamant that we were going to go out for a lesson, just the two of us!

Tomorrow is D-Day (driving test) and I am stressing out a bit - but if I think positively than it should all go well *fingerscrossed*

Our desktop computer has crashed!!!! Hopefully it will be able to be repaired, or at the very least, they will be able to retrieve the files, basically just the massive amount of photos and videos that are on it. I haven't backed up photos for an age.... Luckily my sister M has soooo many photos of Princess!
So its back to the laptop!

Ohhh, its cold!!

I am sitting in the computer room, catching up on my emails and reading some blogs when I hear Princess's bedroom door open, as I turn around to take her back to bed I see my Princess in all her glory - she is nekkid and tells me she needs to go to the toilet!!

For a while now, we have been reading a couple of stories, and then I leave her to go to sleep on her own... Sometimes it works, other times she comes out dressed in her ballerina outfits, which is what she was trying to do before she needed to pee!

Have I mentioned it is chilly here during the nights now due to autumn?? Princess figured out how cold when she was on the toilet - and fessed up to trying to change into her ballerina outfit! So now she is back in bed, reading herself some books, this kid is a night owl.

I have one last online quiz that needs to be completed by next Monday, then I am offically on "holidays". The good thing about having holidays while doing my course externally means I have ALL the necassary info to still keep studying during this down time, so hopefully I will be a little more oragnised and ahead... hopefully :)

It's been a while....

Our computer is having a break-down! The internet refuses to run through the main computer, so its hooked up to the slow laptop - but only works occasionally!!

So that's why it's been a while since I have written here.

I have booked in for my driving test next week. My driving instructor is already booked up for my particular time slot, so I will be taking my car, unless I change my booking and go later. The next available time is about a week and a half away, so I will sleep on it... I can change the booking up until the night before I do believe...

Princess's new attire consists of tutus... my youngest sister is a tiny thing, and the tutus and dance costumes she wore when she first started kinda fit Princess - not so good with winter fast approaching!!
So now she refers to herself as, "a girl princess ballerina"....

I have spotted some cute wrap-a-round shrugs in clothing stores, so may need to stock up on them if her tutu phase continues!!
